Sports in 1961

In 1961 , the NFL Green Bay Packers Returned to face the New York Gaints . The Packers scored 24 second-quarter points, including a championship-record 19 by Paul Hornung . This was the Green Bay's first title since 1941 , It was in 1961 that Green Bay became known as "Titletown." . In MLB , Roger Maris hits 61 home runs during the regular season, breaking Babe Ruth's mark of 60 that had stood since 1927 . Also ,  Mickey Mantle becomes the highest paid player in Major League Baseball by signing a contract that will pay him $75,000 per season .
